This is our kitchen cabinet layout. The island will have an overhang and a kitchen table on wheels will slide under the lip. The kitchen table can be pulled out into the nook space to accommodate more guests (see floor plan: www.flickr.com/photos/moosicorn/4201255945/ ). Stools can be used for bar seating at the island.

White Rock Resort Kitchen

You are thinking what’s with the kitchen? It’s a 1959 photo of my family’s resort White Rock on Lake Chetek in Northern Wisconsin. It sits on a peninsula in Chetek, which is part of the Chain of Six Lakes. My great-grandfather built all seven cabins by himself, including the kitchen cabinets you see here. They look great. This weekend I will be paying a visit to this place for the first time.
You can get a primer that is for formica.and prime them with that first. You must let the primer dry completely and then you can paint whatever color you wish. I think whitewashing them is out of the question.
